President Joe Biden's State of the Union (SOTU) address this year marked a significant increase in viewership, drawing an audience of 32.2 million across nine networks, according to final Nielsen numbers. This represents an 18% rise from the previous year's viewership. Fox News led the broadcast with 5.843 million viewers, contributing to the overall increase. The SOTU's TV audience was predominantly older, with 74% of viewers aged 55 or above. Despite the increase, the SOTU viewership still falls short when compared to the Super Bowl's 123.7 million viewers this year. The SOTU's performance this year positions it as the second-most-watched of Biden’s addresses to Congress since his first in 2021, trailing behind the 38.2 million viewers in 2022.
