Aurora Borealis Captivates Viewers; Li Bin Captures Stunning Images, SpaceX Monitors Solar Weather

The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, has been observed in various locations, including China, Alaska, and Washington State. Chinese researcher Li Bin captured stunning images of the phenomenon using a fisheye lens at the China-Iceland Arctic Science Observatory on September 1. The lights are commonly visible around the spring and fall equinoxes and are currently active due to sustained southward magnetic fields. Observations have been reported from Bartlett Cove in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, and Whidbey Island, Washington, where the Big Dipper was also visible. The Northern Lights have also been seen in the Vancouver area and Yellowknife, with a diffuse red glow visible in Maine. SpaceX operations might be affected by current solar weather conditions.
